USA- Oracle has been acknowledged as a founding participant of CancerX, a groundbreaking public-private partnership established to catalyze advancements aimed at diminishing cancer-related fatalities. Leveraging its extensive expertise in open cloud platforms, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, clinical research, healthcare research, and scientific knowledge stemming from the recent acquisition of Cerner, Oracle is set to play a pivotal role in this initiative.

CancerX, a cornerstone of The White House’s national Cancer Moonshot endeavor, is spearheaded by Moffitt Cancer Center and the Digital Medicine Society (DiMe). Collaborators include the Office for the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology and the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health.

Seema Verma, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Oracle Life Sciences, underscored the significance of overcoming the healthcare sector’s fragmentation, which often obstructs optimal patient care and curative efforts. Verma expressed pride in Oracle’s ability to leverage its healthcare, clinical research, and enterprise cloud technology acumen to advance innovative and more effective cancer treatments.

Smit Patel, Associate Program Director at the Digital Medicine Society, emphasized the pivotal role of multi-stakeholder collaboration in harnessing digital innovation’s potential to combat cancer. Patel’s sentiment conveyed the ambitious aims of CancerX, such as establishing best practices, amplifying capabilities, and demonstrating the transformative impact of innovation on the cancer journey.

Oracle and its array of innovative collaborators will collectively outline the value proposition of digital innovation within cancer care, address methodological and implementation gaps, and establish guidelines for the equitable integration of digital health technologies in oncology at scale. The shared objective is to align with the White House’s Cancer Moonshot goal of halving the cancer mortality rate within the next quarter-century, while concurrently enhancing the well-being of individuals and families impacted by cancer.

Santosh Mohan, Vice President of Digital at Moffitt Cancer Center, emphasized the imperative of audacious innovation and purposeful collaboration in conquering cancer. Mohan spotlighted CancerX’s role in fostering an ecosystem conducive to pioneering ideas, resource-sharing, and swift development and deployment of innovative solutions. The co-hosts and participants are united by their commitment to propelling the Cancer Moonshot’s objectives and enriching the cancer research and treatment landscape through digital innovation.
